ET: Grš. órganon = orodje, naprava (‹KLU›, 519).

KM: Ta pojem je uvrščen v Pojmovnik zato, ker se v orgelski terminologiji glasbe 20. stoletja pojavlja vrsta pojmov za označitev novih vrst o., ki temeljijo na novi, večinoma elektronski tehnologiji.

V KR elektroakustičnih orgel je predlagano, da vse vrste neakustičnih o. v 20. stoletju spadajo k elektronskim orglam, saj je strogo ločevanje med elektroakustičnimi orglami in elektronskimi orglami nemogoče. (Tako se tudi v KR elektronskih glasbenih instrumentov predlaga, da – iz istega razloga – elektroakustični glasbeni instrumenti sodijo med elektronske glasbene instrumente.) Tu imamo torej elektronske orgle Hammondove orgle, svetlobne orgle in Wurlitzerjeve orgle. (Električne o. so tradicionalne akustične o. na električni pogon – gl. ‹MELZ›, I, 516–517, oziroma KR in op. v elektroakustičnih orglah.)
