D: »Hit je v dobesednem prevodu šlager, pri čemer se s šlagerjem ne misli na osladno, kičasto zabavno glasbo, temveč na stopnjo priljubljenosti skladbe … (Tudi šlager kot osladna, kičasta zabavna glasba je lahko hit.)« (‹KN›, 94).

KM: Pojmi, ki odstopajo od ANG izvirnika, so sugerirani v ‹BR›, 202–203, in 236–237, pri čemer je povsem nejasno, po čem naj bi razlikovali pomen teh dveh pojmov.

»Osladna, kičasta zabavna glasba« v D je opisni prevod NEM-besede »Schnulze«.

KR: V D se natančno opozarja na dvopomenskost hita in šlagerja: šlager je lahko naziv za vrsto osladne, kičaste zabavne glasbe, ter je sopomenka hita (NEM »Schlager« je v slovenščino prevzet v fonetični varianti in je dobeseden prevod ANG-izraza hit). Zdi se, da se v praktični uporabi v slovenskem jeziku šlager uporablja skoraj izključno kot naziv za vrsto zabavne glasbe, medtem ko je hit kakršna koli uspešna skladba, vendar predvsem v pop glasbi, rock glasbi, včasih pa (tudi – gl. D) v popularni glasbi in v zabavni glasbi. Priporoča se ohranjanje take pomenske diferenciacije.
