HARD ROCK

D: »(Naziv za) slogovno usmeritev (v rock glasbi), v kateri je zelo poudarjen beat v štiričetrtinskem taktu, v harmoniji in v obliki pa se najpogosteje uporablja shema bluesa … V začetku sedemdesetih let je bil hard rock pod vplivom rock and rolla. KM: Posebni pojmi v NEM, FR in IT (kot tudi AN pojem »hard rock 1970«), ki se razlikujejo od izvirnega ANG-pojma, so ponujeni v prevodu v ‹BR›, 234–235. Kot take jih ni možno najti nikjer v strokovni literaturi. Zanimivo pa je, da so v ‹BR›, 236–237 isti pomi v NEM, FR in IT (v nekoliko drugačni ortografiji) ponujeni tudi za heavy rock, heavy metal (rock). O morebitni sopomenskosti hard rocka in heavy metala gl. KR heavy rocka, heavy metal (rocka).
