D: »(Naziv za) družabni ples, ki je, ob cakewalku, prvi iz ZDA prispel v Evropo. Plesali so ga do leta 1912, potem pa ga je zamenjal onestep.« (‹RL›, 1002)

KM: ‹GR6›, XIX, 296, omenja, da je t. postal še zlasti priljubljen v devetdesetih letih 19. stoletja, zahvaljujoč The Washington Postu (1889) in drugim koračnicam Souse, na katere so ljudje plesali. Omenjeno je tudi, da se je v drugem desetletju 20. stoletja t. v Evropi pogosto uporabljal kot sopomenka za fokstrot.

KR: FR-ustreznica »deux temps«, ki je omenjena v ‹GR6›, XIX, 296, se ne pojavlja v FR-literaturi. Vprašamo se lahko, zakaj se v tem viru ne ponujajo tudi ustreznice v drugih jezikih, temveč samo (neobstoječe) ustreznice v FR.

Zapisovanje je povsem neizenačeno, vendar je nepravilno pisanje pojma brez vezaja (skupaj ali ločeno), saj je pojem, enako kot onestep okrajšava »twostep dance«. Z vstavljanjem vezaja se poudarja pridevniška funkcija pojma, ki postane, brez samostalnika »dance«, samostalniška.
