METRSKA MODULACIJA = (METRIČNA MODULACIJA)

ANG: metric, metrical modulation; NEM: metrische Modulation.

D: 1) »(Naziv za) postopno spremembo enega metrskega pulza (D 1) v drugega. E. Carter pogosto uporablja metrsko modulacijo in jo opisuje kot ‘korelacijo strukture različnih hitrosti’ (CARTER 1969: 193).« (‹JON›; 160–161)

2) V teoriji serialne glasbe K. Stockhausena je to naziv za postopne spremembe metra in tempa, ki naj bi bile ekvivalent za modulacije’ iz ene tonalitete v drugo v glasbi tonalitetne tradicije, vse po načelu serialne enotnosti parametra. Npr.:

KM: Metrsko modulacijo je treba razlikovati od polimetra, multimetra in variabilnega metra, ker se v njej metrske spremembe dogajajo postopno, poleg tega pa se – sploh pri Stockhausenu (npr. v skladbah Zeitmasse in Grupe) – ne spreminjajo samo metri, temveč tudi tempo (posebej se v partituro vpisujejo metronomske oznake za spremembe tempa)
