LINEARNI KONTRAPUNKT

ANG: linear counterpoint; NEM: linearer Kontrapunkt.

ET: Lat. linea = (dobesedno) vrvica, trak, tj. ravna črta, potegnjena z vrvico, od linum = trak (‹KLU›, 444), contra = proti, srednjelat. contrapunctum = skrajšano od punctum contra punctum = (dobesedno) nota proti noti, od srednjelat. punctum = nota, od lat. punctum = vbod, pika [točka], od pungere = zbadati (‹KLU›, 401).

D: 1) »Pojem, ki je izvirno nastal (kot naziv) za Bachov kontrapunkt (gl. KURTH 1917 – op. N. G.), danes pa se posebej uporablja (kot naziv) za sodoben tip kontrapunkta (Stravinski, Bartók, Hindemith), ki poudarja individualnost melodičnih linij, temeljito minimalizirajoč harmonski aspekt.« (‹APE›, 158)

2) »To je kontrapunkt najbolj disonantne vrste, ne glede na konsonance na katere je bilo treba biti pozoren v stari glasbi. Pomeni neodvisno gibanje različnih melodičnih tokov ter vključuje neortodoksen kontrapunkt najbolj drastičnega tipa.« (MILLER 1930: 31)

KR: V ‹FR›, 49 se opozarja na »disonantni kontrapunkt«, pojem, ki se zelo redko srečuje in ki ni upravičen: a) najprej zato, ker njegov pendent moral biti »konsonantni kontrapunkt«, ki pa ni povsem konsonanten; b) ker pojem linearni kontrapunkt izvira iz KURTH 1917, kjer je natančno razložen v smislu tehničnega pojma in/ali strokovne besede.
