KR: V ‹MELZ›, I, 197, se b. š. označuje kot posledica »sočasnega zvenenja … vseh sinusnih nihajev (frekvenc). V KR sinusni nihaj, ton, val opozarja na različne oblike pridevnika, vključno s to tukaj, ki se nanašajo na sinusoido. (Pridevnik »sinusoidalni« je nepotreben internacionalizem, ki ga je bolje zamenjati s »sinusni«.)
