ANG: beguine; NEM: Beguine, Béguine (‹RL›, 95›); FR: beguine; IT: beguine.

ET: FR béguin (brez -e!) = ljubezen; v zapisu z -e ni najden noben pomen v smislu D. Lahko, da je osnova pojma dejansko béguin (brez -e), vendar z zapisom, ki je bil ustvarjen tam, kjer je b. nastal (gl. D).

D: »(Naziv za) črnski ples z Martinika in Santa Lucie. Béguine, ki je v tridesetih letih postal znan po Evropi, je vrsta rumbe, ki se izvaja v umirjenem ali hitrem tempu v 2/4, 4/4 ali 2/2 taktu z naslednjo ritmično shemo:«

KM: V ‹HI›, 61, je omenjeno, da b., poleg elementov rumbe vsebuje tudi elemente tanga, medtem ko se v ‹RAN›, 86, ritem b. primerja z ritmom bolera.

KR: V izvirni FR-obliki se beseda piše z naglasom (»béguine«). Ta izvirni zapis se ne upošteva dosledno v vseh navedenih virih (npr. v ‹BASS›, I, 296; ‹HI›, 61; ‹KL›, 158; ‹MELZ›, I, 165; ‹RIC›, I, 218), kar je najbrž posledica internacionalizacije pojma. Tudi v slovenščini ni treba vztrajati pri izvirnem FR-zapisu, še posebej zato, ker se v avtoritativnih FR-slovarjih (npr. v ‹TLF›) ta pomen pojma sploh ne omenja.
