D: »(Naziv za) skulpturo ali konstrukcijo, ki ustvarja zvok, ne vedno glasbene narave, z lastnimi … mehanizmi ali če jo poženejo elementi iz narave, kot so veter, voda ali sončna svetloba, ali pa s posebenim ravnanjem.« (‹GRI›, III, 429)

KM: Najpogosteje so z. s. na veter, kot je omenjeno v ‹CP1›, 243, in v ‹FR›, 102, pri katerih, kot pri nekaterih vzhodnjaških instrumentih, zvok proizvaja strujenje zraka. Najbolj znamenite so z. s. (samouničevalne) skulpture J. Tinguelyja (gl. TOMKINS 1975: 145–187), nato skulpture Takisa, Pola Buryja, Johna Appletona, Maxa Eastleyja, Paula Panhuysena, Joea Jonesa, Hugha Daviesa in drugih (‹BOSS›, 148).
